PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of cavities by providing a continuous type orifice vacuum deaerating device in a coating liquid circulating system and deaerating and applying the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:A supply liquid 5 from a liquid preparing system is deaerated by the continuous type orifice vacuum deaerating device 2. The deaerated coating liquid 7 is supplied from a pump to a coating liquid applicator 3 where the liquid is applied on paper or film by an the applicator and is dried, by which the coated sheet having a smooth coated layer free from the traces of ruptured bubbles and the cavities is obtd. The coated sheet having the smooth coated surface is continuously produced in this way.
