PURPOSE:To enable easy change of the traveling direction of a traveling device consisting of a crawler where a plurality of traveling bodies are dispersely arranged to the circumferential part of the traveling device body in a protrudable manner outward of the traveling device, a traveling body energizing mechanism to protrude the traveling body outward of the traveling device body is provided, and at least one of a plurality traveling bodies is formed to be capable of freely being traveled and driven. CONSTITUTION:Driving wheels 4 are provided in at least one of the longitudinal positions of a crawler 15 in a protrudable manner outward of a traveling device body 2, and steering mechanisms 28, 29 are provided in a steerable manner. A driving means selecting mechanism 25 which brings either of or both of the driving wheels 4 and the crawler 15 into contact with the traveling surface and pushingly pressing them against the traveling surface is provided. |
