CURRENT SUPPLY HEATING TYPE CATALYST CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To facilitate the electrical connection of a metal catalyst carrier to the outside of a metal case and to reduce the flow resistance in a catalyst converter. CONSTITUTION:A metal catalyst carrier 3 formed by superposing a corrugated plate and a flat plate each of which has insulating films formed on both surfaces thereof one upon another to wind them is inserted in a metal case 5 to be fixed to the case 5 in a state possible to supply a current, and an electrode is connected to the outer peripheral surface of the case 5. The corrugated plate and the flat plate are bonded in the bonded region 3b of the catalyst carrier 3 in a state possible to supply a current but both plates are not bonded in the non-bonded region 3a of the carrier 3. The length (b) in the axial direction of the non-bonded region 3a is set to 1/2 the length L in the axial direction of the bonded region 3b.
