PURPOSE:To provide a motor driven fuel pump which is excellent in discharge efficiency while preventing lowering in motor revolution and increasing in electric power consumption with frictional resistance made small between a pump casing and an impeller. CONSTITUTION:A hit relaxing space 16b (a gap) which is larger than a clearance between an impeller 1 and a sliding surface 16, is formed in the inner circumferential side of a pump chamber 4 in the vicinity of the pump chamber outlet 6 of a sliding surface 16a at the side facing to the pump chamber outlet 6 of a pump casing 17 which pivotally mounts the impeller 1 by means of sliding surfaces 3a and 16a.
