<p>PURPOSE:To provide an optical current sensor manufactured easily and improved in sensitivity by increasing the quantity of magnetic flux passing a Faraday element with comparatively simple structure. CONSTITUTION:A Faraday element 4, and a polarizer 9 and an analyzer 12 disposed with the transmitted optical axes thereof in the mutually coinciding state while holding the Faraday element 4 between them are inserted in a gap 2 between ring-shape magnetic body cores l in such a way that the optical axes are parallel to the magnetic flux generated in the gap 2. Holding members 18, 19 formed of magnetic bodies smaller in cross section than the magnetic body cores 1 are provided between each gap end, and the polarizer 9 and analyzer 12.</p> |
