<p>PURPOSE:To provide an instrument panel with which safety at operating an air bag and fitting workability of an air bag unit are improved, and further lightweight-orientation of a vehicle body can be remarkably improved by removing steering members on the front passenger's seat side or making them into a small size. CONSTITUTION:In an instrument panel 21 formed in one body with an instrument panel core material 22, an outer skin 24, and a foaming layer 23 arranged between the core material 22 and the outer skin 24, an opening part 25 for expanding out an air bag is provided on a part of the core material 22, and an air bag retainer connected to biparting air bag lid 30 parts 30a, 30b having standing blades 31 on the periphery through both side hinge parts 29a, 29b is fitted to the opening part 25. Further an air bag case 34 internally mounted with an air bag unit 33 is fixed on the back of the core material 22 of the instrument panel 21, and especially the form of the air bag lid part is made small so as to prevent collision against a windshield.</p> |
