摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a sanitary rice ball, excellent in preservation stability for a long period and useful for restaurants, etc., by inserting a frozen ingredient into a space between lumps of frozen cooked rice for constituting one half of a rice ball and the frozen cooked rice for constituting the other half of the rice ball at a desired time and thawing the resultant rice ball. CONSTITUTION:A lump 7 of cooked rice for constituting one half of a rice ball and a lump 8 of the cooked rice for constituting the other half of the rice ball are prepared by using molds 4 and 5. Both the lumps 7 and 8 of the frozen cooked rice and an ingredient are frozen to provide a piece 1 of the frozen cooked rice for constituting the one half, a piece 2 of the frozen cooked rice for constituting the other half and a frozen ingredient 3. At a desired time, the frozen ingredient 3 is inserted into a space between the resultant pieces 1 and 2 of the frozen cooked rice and collectively thawed to afford the objective rice ball 9.
