PURPOSE: To reshape a container having a prescribed shape and size before reshaping into a container having various shapes and sizes. CONSTITUTION: A container 12 is provided with a body member 14, a closed lower end member 16 and a cone shaped open upper end member 18. A mold 210 is provided with a pair of upper clamping members 250, 252 and a lower clamping member 272, and these members slide along a liner 228. Since the upper clamping members 250, 252 and a seal 262 for closing the container 12 act on a double seam 19 between the upper end member 18 and the body member 14, the upper end member 18 and the double seam 19 are not deformed during reshaping. A seam 17 between the lower end member 16 and the body member 14 is clamped between the lower clamping member 272 and a supporting member 258. Since compressed air is supplied to the interior of the container 12 during reshaping, the container expands outwardly while the clamping members move inwardly at this time. |
