PURPOSE:To offer an integral-structure cushioning material which is simple in construction and lightweight, excellent in appearance and easily, partly adjust able in the stiffness, and in which coil springs make no noise and are completely independent from each other, and its manufacturing method. CONSTITUTION:The manufacturing process of a cushioning material is as follows: A number of coil springs 2 are arranged crossways at intervals in a lower mold by using coil spring support protrusions 3. Then, the lower mold is filled with a first mixed fiber composed of heat-fusible fiber and non-heat- fusible fiber, covered with an upper mold and heated all together, thus the cushioning material is produced by means of integral molding. Or, sheet-like fiber integrates composed of the same mixed fiber are placed above and below a spring coil assembly filled with mixed fiber, and they are heated together to produce the integrally-molded cushioning material. In addition, a stiffness adjusting material having lattice or mesh construction or a hard palm may be arranged at a specified place. |
