PURPOSE:To disperse wax in the form of fine particles homogeneously and efficiently in organic solvent and/or polymerizable monomer by heating a mixture of wax with the organic solvent and/or polymerizable monomer followed by cooling under agitation. CONSTITUTION:(A) A mixture of wax and organic solvent and/or polymerizable monomer (e.g. styrene) is forcedly fed through a line 6 into a heating zone 2 where the wax is heated and dissolved in the medium using a heating unit 12 which has >=0.3cm<2> per cc of heating volume in heat transfer area (a spiral heat exchanger). (B) The resulting mixture thus heated is forcedly fed through a line 7 into a cooling zone 3 consisting of a mixing vessel 14 equipped with an agitator such as a high-speed shear mixer 13. Slmultaneously with the above operations, an organic solvent and/or polymerizable monomer as cooling medium is forcedly fed through another line 8 into a cooling zone 3 where the mixture heated above is cooled to deposit the wax. (C) The resulting wax-dispersed substance is drawn off the cooling zone 3 via a line 9. |
