PURPOSE:To obtain the subject particles excellent in low steam pressure fusion and surface smoothness by dissolving a terpene resin in an aromatic vinyl resin, subjecting the mixture to suspension polymerization, adding a foaming agent thereto and foaming the product. CONSTITUTION:After (A) 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic vinyl resin, preferably an aromatic vinyl monomer homopolymer comprising a styrene monomer, and (B) 0.2 to 10 pts.wt. of a terpene resin, preferably a monoterpene hydrocarbon homopolymer or a monoterpene hydrocarbon and a petroleum fraction copolymer are dissolved and the mixture is subjected to suspension polymerization. Then, 100 pts.wt. of the resin particles are combined with (C) 1 to 15 pts.wt. of a foaming agent such as propane or butane and they are foamed to the objective particles. |
