PURPOSE:To obtain the subject molding material useful for video disc, etc., having excellent qualities and releasability, having a small amount of volatile gas evolved, capable of being operated for molding for many hours, comprising a methacrylic resin, a release agent such as an aliphatic alcohol and wax in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective molding material comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. methacrylic resin, (B) 0.02-0.19 pts.wt. one or more release agents selected from a group consisting of aliphatic alcohols such as cetyl alcohol, higher fatty acids such as stearic acid and fatty acid esters such as stearic acid monoglyceride and (C) 0.01-0.18 pt.wt. wax of the formula CnH2n+2 (n is 20-25) wherein the total amounts of the components B and C is 0.05-0.2 pt.wt. An optical information recording carrier is obtained from the molding material. |
