PURPOSE:To minimize influence on control performance, enhance durability of a brake system, and at the same time, suppress a loss of energy in performing behavior control of a vehicle with auxiliary steering of wheels and control of difference between braking forces of left/right wheels by minimizing influence of the latter control. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary steering means of this behavior control device operates the desired value of an auxiliary steering angle that tallys the actual behavior of a vehicle with the desired value of behavior that a desired behavior setting means determined from the main steering amount by a steering wheel and steers wheels to the extent of this steering angle, and prevents behavior control by a control means of difference between braking forces of left/right wheels from being practiced until the desired value of the auxiliary steering angle or the absolute value of the auxiliary steering angle is checked by a large auxiliary steering checking means and judged that it is not less than a set value, therefore, this device performs control of difference between braking forces of left/right wheels on that particular occasion when the behavior at which this device sets its sights cannot be achieved, and prevents the control of difference between braking forces of left/right wheels from being performed uselessly. |
