PURPOSE:To maintain performance of an ejection recovery means in an ink jet recording apparatus for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning cartridge C100 is constructed approximately in the same shape as an ink jet cartridge equipped with a recording head. Thereby the ink jet cartridge can be replaced, on removal from a recording apparatus main body, by the cleaning cartridge C100 to be mounted to the recording apparatus main body. As an absorption body 100 of the cleaning cartridge C100 is set to the same position to which the recording head is set, ink stuck to a blade on occasion of wiping and the ink stuck to a cap on occasion of capping can be absorbed efficiently. |
