PURPOSE: To improve drawing speed by passing through a jet of a curtain-like liquid in order to impart liquid lubricant to a wire and arranging the jet of liquid so as to nearly cross to the drawing direction of the wire at this moment. CONSTITUTION: Liquid lubricant 6 is made to pass through a guide tube 7 and is emitted from the opening slit 8 of a nozzle 14 onto a supporting element formed into a metal plate piece 9, and the metal plate piece 9 is inclined by about 20 deg. to the vertical line so that liquid lubricant 6 generates a prescribed flow. A hole 13 having a diameter of about 10 mm is provided in the central area of the metal plate piece 9, and the wire 1 is guided passing through the hole 13. Since the metal plate piece 9 is almost vertically erected, liquid lubricant 6 is made to flow passing over the hole 13, and a part which is not supported by the curtain 16 consisting of liquid lubricant 6 is formed about vertically to the drawing direction of the wire 1 at this moment. The interacting area between liquid lubricant 6 and the wire 1 is made relatively small by the curtain 16. The excellent result is obtained even when liquid lubricant 6 has high crossing speed to the wire 1. |
