<p>PURPOSE:To provide a security card which can hardly be forged or altered and also its reader. CONSTITUTION:A reflective layer against a visible light and an infrared beam is provided on a card base l, and patterns for interpretation of the authenticity of a card are prepared using a paint with the lower light permeability of a coat than the permeability of an infrared beam and a paint with the higher permeability of a visible light than the permeability of an infrared beam. Thus the patterns on the card base 1 are arranged in such a manner that they assume a relationship between a negative pattern and a positive pattern. Light-emitting elements 17, 19 and light-receiving elements 18, 20 for visible light and infrared beam are arranged so that they detect the same identification pattern 15 provided on the card base 1. Thus output signal patterns from the visible light part and the infrared beam part are compared to determine the authenticity of the card.</p> |
