The method makes it possible to control a system with the aid of a computer including a pacer which sends interrupt pulses at a specified frequency. The control program has three modules. The first module provides for the communication with the user via the keyboard and the monitor for the processing of data intended for the system or originating therefrom and for the storing of data in memory and the other functions which are not bound to the system or time-bound. The second module contains functions for controlling the system at moments when commands have to be executed, as well as a routine for executing the commands. The third module is a program for switching from the first module to the second and vice versa. Each interrupt pulse interrupts execution of the first partial program and enables the switching program which switches over to the second module for execution of the control function corresponding to the relevant moment. After executing the control function, the program returns to the interrupted step of the first module. <IMAGE>
