DEVICE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF IMPROVING PERFORMANCE OF VIDEO RECORDER IN SEARCH MODE

PURPOSE: To provide image quality receivable at both high and low speeds by extending respective basic segments for stipulating the incremental part of picked-up images in a first direction and a second direction for crossing the first direction. CONSTITUTION: The respective basic segments are provided with coded discrete cosine transformation(DCT) in the blocks of plural picture elements and all the blocks inside the segment are the adjacent blocks of video images. The respective basic segments are provided with a luminance block Y and a corresponding chromaticity block UV relating to a 4-block row and a 10-block column. The block is coded by variable word length formation or fixed work length formation. The video images indicated in a frame are divided into three horizontal sections A-C and the 54 basic segments relating to the respective horizontal sections are recorded in respective track pairs. The order of generating record is indicated by the numbering of the basic segments and it is executed for respective columns.
