PURPOSE:To provide the subscriber system optical network having a sufficient transmission capacity a for subscriber at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A broad band service is offered by adopting the frequency multiplex multi-access system for incoming communication and adopting the time division multiplex system for outgoing communication in the subscriber system optical network using an optical fiber. Since a single carrier frequency is assigned to a single transmission light source for a subscriber terminal station 102, the transmission light source with high linearity is not required for the subscriber terminal station 102. Furthermore, since a light source with a wide luminous spectrum width is used for the transmission light source of the subscriber terminal station, optical beat noise is avoided. |
