<p>PURPOSE:To freely set or convert desired set time according to the purpose of use and to improve user's handleability by providing the recording and reproducing device with a shutoff time setting means which can optionally set the set time. CONSTITUTION:When VTR1 is supplied with electric power by using a control circuit 2, shutoff execution time corresponding to switches 1-4 or 5 is stored in the memory of the circuit 2, and then a timer for time measurement which is not shown in the Figure is reset and made to start counting. Further, the circuit 2 decides whether or not there is an operation key input and whether or not operation based upon the key input is carried on and continued; when the affirmative result is obtained, the timer is reset and made to start counting newly, but when not, the result means that the shutoff execution time is not elapsed yet, so the decision making is repeated until the positive result is obtained. When the affirmative result is obtained, the circuit 2 sends a control signal to a power source block 5 to shut off the power source.</p> |
