PURPOSE:To provide the picture processing unit in which function confirmation and fault diagnosis or the like are quickly and easily implemented by the unit itself by self-diagnosing a function block in the inside of the unit. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the unit is divided into plural blocks, and each MPX (14, 16, 20, 22) is provided to each block and the input terminal changeover of each MPX is controlled by select signals S1-S4 outputted from a pattern control section 25 and a predetermined test pattern Ta is inputted for each block at the time of test. An output expectation value generating section 26 generates an expected value Tb obtained from each block at the time of input of the test pattern Ta. A comparator section 27 compares the real processing output results Dc, Df, Dh, Dj of the test pattern Ta inputted for each block with the expected value Tb. A CPU 28 discriminates whether or not each block is normal based on the result of comparison. |
