PURPOSE:To retrieve a set phrase and an idiomatic phrase from a dictionary data base the same way to a word by retrieving words and phrases on the basis of the set phrase by extracting the set phrase formed of plural words including a specified word in a document. CONSTITUTION:An input part 11 reads in input data and stores a document and an image in a temporary storage part 16 at need. A display part 14 reads necessary data out of the temporary storage part 16 and displays the data on a display device. A printing part 15 reads necessary data out of the temporary storage part 16 and outputs them to a printer. An external storage part 13 transfers data with the temporary storage part 16 at need and stores the document and image. A synonym dictionary part 17 uses words and phrases, segmented from the document stored in the temporary storage part 16 by using a word segmenting means 18, backward idiom segmenting means 19, or forward idiom segmenting means 20, as the set phrase, retrieves a synonym dictionary data base 22 by using a retrieving means 21, and stores the result in a specific area of the temporary storage part 16 at need. |
