<p>PURPOSE:To detect the breakage of a strand of a transmission line automatically and quickly using a simple image processing technique. CONSTITUTION:A slit light is generated by an optical system 31 and the slit light L is made to irradiate a transmission line 7 vertical thereto to detect the reflected-light La thereof in image with a TV camera 5. The detection image signal is introduced to a signal processing system 6 and an irradiation geometry is extracted from the image signal to be converted to a fine line. The information on the irradiation geometry converted to the fine line is compared with a reference value. When a difference between both the values exceeds a specified value, it is judged that there is a breakage in a strand and the results are recorded. A power system 10 makes the mainframe 1 turn in the perimeter of the transmission line 7 to perform an inspection over the entire circumference of the transmission line.</p> |
