PURPOSE:To accurately reproduce information by tracking accurately and to reduce power consumption by operating a cooling device in case of necessity. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk drive irradiating a light beam outgoing from a semiconductor laser 14 on the track of an optical disk 1 and obtaining a regenerative signal and a tracking error signal from a return beam from the optical disk 1 is provided with the cooling device 6 cooling the semiconductor laser 14 so as to hold the wavelength of the light beam constantly and a track off-set detecting circuit 5 finding a track off-set from the tracking error signal. Then the cooling device is operated in accordance with the track off-set. |
