The method includes a vertical winching gantry equipped on its upper crossmember with a winch (5) using a cable (12) or chain, secured to the chassis (6) of a lorry, including an articulation (7) of a pivoting gantry (18) composed of uprights (19), of a front crossmember (17) including, at its middle, a cable guide (21) with vertical return, and a rear crossmember (8) including: two vertical and retractable cable guides (11), two rollers (10) and two short struts (9) each equipped with an articulated shoe for bearing on the ground; it furthermore includes a movable load support with platform (24) equipped with two rollers (27), with several anchoring points (28) intended to receive the hook (37) at the end of the cable (12) on a moving fastener (29); the said platform includes means (25) for stowing the load on the platform. <IMAGE>
