QCUICK COOLING DEWAR DEVICE AND APPLICATION THEREOF

PURPOSE: To quench a sensor to an extremely low temp. range by separating the cooling path of a sensor part and a low temp. shield part and cooling only the sensor in the cooling part of a Dewar-Bohr apparatus and indirectly cooling the low temp. shield part. CONSTITUTION: A sensor 28 is supported on the outside surface 30 of the lid 24 of the end part of a hollow cylindrical Bohr pipe 22 and a cylindrical low temp. shield 34 partially surrounds the sensor 28 and cuts off undesirable radiation so as not to allow the same to reach the sensor 28. The low temp. shield 34 is mounted at the place 26 of the Bohr pipe 22 by a low temp. shield support bracket 38. The support bracket 38 is pref. made of copper or aluminum. A cooling device 26 is arranged so as to rapidly cool the interior of the lid 24 of the end part of the Bohr pipe as compared with other any place of a Dewar device 20 and the mounting place 36 of the low temp. shield 34 is slowly cooled as compared with the lid 24 of the end part. Therefore, the sensor 28 being in contact with the outside surface of the lid 24 of the end part is most rapidly cooled and the low temp. shield 34 is cooled at a slower speed.
