PURPOSE:To effectively prevent a reduction with the lapse of time in image quality by the long-term repeated use of a photoreceptor, particularly, a function separating type organic photoreceptor, bay providing an ion removing mechanism making contact with the surface of the photoreceptor between a cleaning mechanism and a charging mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Between a cleaning mechanism and a charging mechanism 8, an ion removing mechanism 9 which makes contact with the surface of a photoreceptor 1 to remove ions, particularly, anions is provided. The ion removing mechanism 9 has a top end formed from an anion exchanging polymer, preferably, an anion ion exchanging resin, allowing soft, minute and uniform contact with the surface of the photoreceptor 1. The ion removing mechanism 9 is integrated into an image forming cycle, whereby, even if an oxidizing anion generated according to the charge of NO2<-> and NO3<-> is adhered to the surface of the photoreceptor 1, this can be captured prior to its penetration of the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor 1. |
