PURPOSE:To provide a speed controller fitted with drooping which can see to it that a motor protector does not operate by improving the speed evenness in the accelerating or decelerating operation of a plurality of motors driving rolls severally. CONSTITUTION:A drooping circuit 20 is constituted capably of changeover between a relatively small first drooping gain and relatively large second drooping gain, and an operation mode judger 21 judges whether a motor 14 is in accelerating/decelerating operation or in constant velocity operation. When it judges that this is in accelerating/decelerating operation, the gain of the drooping circuit 20 is changed over to the first drooping gain, and when it judges that this is in constant velocity operation, that is changed over to the second drooping gain. |
