The electrolytic plating of bulk material (nuts, bolts, screws, bushes) with aluminium from an aprotic aluminium-organic electrolyte, free from oxygen and water, is effected in an inclined rimmed disc with an aluminium anode near the cover. The material is kept spread across the area of the disc by a spiral track of sawtooth cross-section. The articles (G) are poured through an inlet lock (Es) and funnel (Fr) in the inclined rimmed disc (Wa) in the bath (Bb), filled with aprotic aluminium-organic electrolyte, with nitrogen above its level (Esp). The disc is revolved by a motor driving the shaft (Aw). An anode (A) is fixed near the cover (D). The bottom (B) is formed by a spiral of sawtooth cross-section. The articles are discharged through an output lock (As).
