The rail vehicle wheel is fitted with a tyre, a hub and at least one wheel disc. It is constructed as one piece or consists of at least two components. Owing to its geometrical shape, the axial rigidity of the wheel is at least 100 N/mm. The wheel disc (5) has a tangential corrugation (7) and its wall thickness (s) tapers from the hub (4) to the rim (2). The axial rigidity is provided by two corrugated wheel discs, one corrugated and one uncorrugated disc or two uncorrugated discs. The wheel disc is further reinforced by corrugated webs running into the hub and rim. Such rail wheels are highly suitable for high-speed rail traffic in particular, and are also economical. |
