Optical fibre coupling module - holds fibres in holders which have cutters to remove cladding when holders pushed together

The optical coupling module (1) has a first optical fibre (LWL1) bent in a first holder (A1) and a second fibre (LWL2) in a second holder (A2). The fibres (LWL1, LWL2) have a core (KE) and a cladding (MA, I). The holders (A1, A2) each have a cutter (M1, M2). When the two holders (A1, A2) are pushed together, at least part of the cladding (MA, I) is removed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Coupling for combining or separating signals guided in optical fibres. Can be made without special or precise tools. Fibres do not need to be specially prepared before assembly.
