Protective ground matting - is sewn together with adhesive-treated thread

The protective cover for ground, using a carrier of organic material, is stiched together with a thread which has previously been treated with an adhesive. Pref. before the thread is used, it is drawn through an adhesive and the surplus is scraped clear. The adhesive is carried on a roller immersed in an adhesive bath, to coat the thread. After the thread has been laid on the roller, it passes through a scraper to remove surplus adhesive. The thread is temporarily detached from the roller when it is engaged by the sewing needle. The adhesive roller covers with width of the matting, as does the adhesive container. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cover material is for laying on flat or angled ground surfaces as an erosion protection and/or mulching matting which can be provided with embedded seeds or used to prevent weed growth. The adhesive-treated thread gives the required adhesion within the matting without an adhesive application and attendant soling.
