The appts. to disinfect contaminated material, through microwave energy, has a locking system with a locking section at the lid (2) and chamber (1) with a drilling, and a longitudinal locking bolt (4). The locking bolt (4) is moved into the closed position through the drilling of the locking unit, inwards and can be retracted outwards. An inflatable seal (21) is between the edge of the filling opening to the chamber (1) and the lid (2) surface towards the filling opening. The locking bolt (4) has a conical tapering at the end towards the locking unit, in the closed position. Part of the shaft section of the locking bolt (4) is toothed, to mesh with a drive pinion, powered by an electro-motor. The locking unit is formed by a screw eyelet forming the drilling, with a threaded section adjustable fitted in a shoulder of the lid (2) or chamber (1). The locking bolt (4) slides axially in a drilling in the housing. The housing has an opening across the drilling to hold the eyelet so that, when the lid (2) is closed, both drillings are in alignment and the closed locking bolt (4) in the drilling is at both sides of the eyelet. The inflatable seal (21) is shrouded externally by a microwave sealing (23). USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is for disinfection of contaminated and soiled waste, especially in medical situations. The assembly gives a lid sealing, when closed, which is absolutely tight and leak-free and locked in place.
