<p>PURPOSE: To enhance comfortableness and operational economy by providing a controller connected with a thermostat circuit and controlling the operation of a motor, and a logic unit for setting the operation mode of a heating, ventilation, air conditioning(HVAC) system in response to the switch mechanism of the thermostat thereby controlling the speed of a fan. CONSTITUTION: A field assembling rotational speed controller 21 for operating a fan 5 in relation to a thermostat 7 in a heating and air conditioning system comprises a multipolar multi-speed motor 23, and controllers 31, 45 connected between the thermostat 7 and the motor 23. When a fan switch is turned on and heating or cooling is required, the controllers 31, 45 operate the fan 5 at high speed. Heating or cooling is stopped when the temperature reaches a preset level. The controllers 31, 45 switch the rotational speed of the motor 23 to a lower level as compared with that for heating or cooling operation and circulates the air continuously until the thermostat 7 request heating or cooling operation again thus reducing energy consumption under air supply mode.</p> |
