Auxiliary frame for lorry chassis - covers various chassis frames and uses longitudinal bearers with differing profile in a longitudinal direction

The auxiliary frame has longitudinal (1) and cross (3) bearers and is intended to locate between the lorry chassis and the load platform. Each longitudinal bearer is composed lengthwise from sections of a U-rail (9) and a Z-rail (10), whereby the webs of the U and Z rails are arranged upright, with the U rail being located in the front auxiliary frame area and the Z-rail in the rear. At the connecting point of the U and Z rails their upper arms (12,15) are arranged coaxially to one another in the longitudinal bearer extent. The lower arms (13,16) of the rails are positioned crossways to one another in the longitudinal bearer extent. The lower arm (16) of the Z rail (10) faces the adjacent longitudinal bearer (1), in order to achieve a reduced internal width in both its rear and forward areas. USE/ADVANTAGE - An auxiliary frame fitting between chassis and load platform which is suitable for a range of lorry chassis.
