PURPOSE:To execute the normal action of a camera from an initial state when it is used next by finishing all the operation after restoring each member to an initial position and restoring it in a normal state in the case that abnormality is caused in the middle of a series of photographing operation. CONSTITUTION:This camera is provided with a control circuit (CPU) 20 which monitors the actuation of a distance member 6 by checking a detecting switch HS in specified timing in the middle of photographing operation and executes processing action in the case of detecting the abnormality of the action. In the case of detecting the abnormality of the action, resetting action that the distance member 6 is temporarily moved from an initial position to a reverse rotating direction and then it is driven in a normal rotating direction again to reach an actuation monitoring point and rechecking action that the home switch HS is checked to judge the abnormality after resetting action are executed. The CPU 20 repeats the same processing action in the case of judging the abnormality in the rechecking action.
