PURPOSE: To obtain a novel method for deciding the characteristics of the timing parameter of a sequential circuit. CONSTITUTION: A step 5 for inputting a prescribed logic order is executed on a sequential circuit and a step 6 for simulating the sections 1 and 2 of the sequential circuit by using a circuit simulator is executed through a computer. The simulation is executed by using a spice. Then a step 7 for observing the signal at the internal node of the sequential circuit is executed and the signal which appears at the internal node of the sequential circuit is observed in response to inputted logic order. Although the internal node is connected between the sections 1 and 2, the other inside of the section 1 or 2 can also be observed. Then a step 8 for calculating the parameter of the sequential circuit from observed signals by using a computer algorithm is executed. The calculated parameter can contain set time, holding time, and minimum clock pulse width. |
