The invention relates to the technology of obtaining composite materials, namely to a basaltic material and method of obtaining it. A composite material contains basaltic fibre and an organic impregnating material comprising a mixture of epoxidated diene polymer and oligoamide resin of the following ratio of the initial components in weight per cent: basaltic fibre 40.0-99.0, epoxidated diene polymer 0.95-39.0, oligoamide resin 0.05-21.0. The method consists in applying on the basaltic fibre, at the weight ratio of 0.01-1.5:1.0, an impregnating composition of epoxidated diene polymer and the oligoamide resin taken at the weight ratio of 1.8-19.0:1.0, respectively, and the thermotreatment is effected at the temperature of 180-240 DEG C during 0.2-6 min.
