<p>A sound wave generator (10) is effective for producing ultrasonic sound wave vibrations as well as low frequency vibrations which are offensive to rodents. A wiring conductor (22), which serves as a sonic radiator, is attached to an end portion (30A) of a solenoid rod (30) which is reciprocated by one or more electromagnetic coils (24, 26, 28). The solenoid rod (30) is permitted to vibrate within a hollow spool, and the sonic radiator (22) is mechanically coupled to the solenoid rod (30) by a high compliance, conductive metal spring (32). The sound wave generator circuit (10) includes a pseudo-random signal generator (50) for randomly gating the conduction of electrical alternating current through the solenoid coils (24, 26, 28) during a pulsing duty cycle.</p> |
