In an assembly to minimise particle emissions from diesel engines, the diesel engine is combined with a gas permeation unit and the inlet gas compressor is driven by the diesel engine. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement reduces the incidence of diesel particle emissions. The cylinder pressure is not significantly raised above the previous value.
