PURPOSE:To detect two systems such as VTR by an electric constitution; a wide band recording system in VTR and a narrow band recording system, automatically by discriminating these recording systems on the basis of the difference of carrier frequency levels of FM signals in respective recording systems. CONSTITUTION:The carrier of a reproduced FM luminance signal impressed to a terminal 11 is inputted to phase comparators 12, 13. The comparator 12 compares the phase of the input signal with that of the carrier of a luminance signal in the narrow band recording system, the comparator 13 compares the phase of the input signal with that of the carrier of the luminance signal in the wide band recording system and respective phase-compared outputs are detected by phase detecting circuits 14, 15. These two detected outputs are inputted to a detecting circuit 16 and synchronously oscillated to obtain a detected output. If the reproduced luminance signal is based upon the narrow band recording system, the detected output of the circuit 14 is synchronously oscillated. If said signal is based upon the wide band recording system, the detected output of the circuit 15 is similarly synchronously oscillated. |
