<p>A method of incorporating an electric heater into a hot runner manifold (58) of an injection molding machine containing at least one hot melt channel (59) for advancing thermoplastic material comprises the steps of: providing a housing, forming a passageway in said housing, coating the passageway with a material effective to absorb radiant heat, placing an electric heating element into the coated passageway, placing said housing into physical contact with said manifold (58), and energizing said beating element whereby heat radiated from said heating element is absorbed by said housing and transmitted to said manifold (58) via said coated passageway. <IMAGE> <IMAGE></p> |
