<p>A processing solution for color photographic material, in which the specific compound specified below, as to introduce a specific group into the meta position of benzaldehyde and processing method thereof is used. The processing solution comprising features: (1) any dye discoloration can be prevented at a low humidity even if any formaldehyde is not substantially contained; (2) the scratch resistance of a light sensitive material can be improved; (3) the solution preservability can be excellent and, in particular, the processing solution hardly sulfurized can be supplied; (4) the yellow stain prevention can be improved in any unexposed portions; and (5) the safety of the working circumstantial conditions can also be improved. <CHEM> wherein A represents <CHEM> or <CHEM> X represents a hydroxyl group, a sulfonic acid group, a carboxylic acid group, an amino group, a sulfonamido group, a sulfamoyl group, a carbamoyl group, a sulfinic acid group or a sulfonyl group; n is an integer of 0 or 1 through 3; R1 and R2 represent each a hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group, a lower alkyl group which may have a substituent, an aldehyde group, a hydroxyl group, a carboxylic acid group or a sulfonic acid group, R1 and R2 may be same or different.</p> |
