The apparatus for enhancing musical tone by applying proper effect tone to each of music tone groups comprises: address decoders (3)(4) for decoding function of the key-board (1) and the function select key (2); a tone generator (5) to generate proper tones by using the address decoders' (3)(4) outputs; a mixer (6) to mix the tone generator (5) outputs; a selector to select necessary signals among the output signals of tone generator(5) and mixer (6); a number of effect tone circuits (8-11) to apply effect tones to the music tone groups by the control of selector (7); microprocessor controlled analog switches (12-15) to switch the effect tone circuits.
