PURPOSE:To obtain a hygienic chopping board with a high safety and moreover, realize it at a low cost by arranging antibacterial members on side end face parts of chopping board having a synthetic resin chopping board material. CONSTITUTION:A chopping board 1 is formed from chopping board materials 2 and 2 made of a polyethylene resin and antibacterial members 3 made of the same polyethylene resin. The antibacterial members 3 are formed into plates by kneading an arbitrary amount of antibacterial zeolite into the polyethylene resin in a range of 0.01-10wt.%. The antibacterial members 3 are exposed to the side ends of the chopping board to make the side ends of the chopping board antibacterial. Hence, even when the chopping board left wet after the use thereof is put against something to preserve, the proliferation of bacteria is prevented on the lower and upper side end parts of the chopping board as well. Thus, even when especially high antibacterial effect is desired to be applied to the side end parts of the chopping board highly susceptible to the proliferation of bacteria, the amount of the antibacterial agent to be contained in the chopping board as a whole can be saved keeping the chopping board hygienic thereby enabling the holding down of the production costs as low as possible. |
