<p>PURPOSE:To provide the title deriv. having an organ specificity and useful as a pharmacological transport carrier by selecting a specific sugar-modified polyglutamic acid deriv. CONSTITUTION:A sugar-modified polyglutamic acid deriv. comprising structural units A and B of formula I [wherein R1 is OR' or NHR'' (wherein R'' is H or a physiologically active substance; and R' is R'' or an alkali metal); R2 is glucosyl provided that its amino group at the 2-position or OH group may be substd. by an acetyl group; n is 7-10; and the molar ratio of k to m is 1-100] is selected. The deriv. is prepd. by reacting an N-carboxyglutamic anhydride deriv. of formula II with an N-caroxyglutamic anhydride of formula N (wherein R5 is a protective group of carboxyl group), separating the protective group from the carboxyl group, and, if necessary, bonding a physiologically active substance to the carboxyl group.</p> |
