PREPARATION OF THERMOSENSITIVE RECORDING PAPER

PURPOSE:To prepare thermosensitive recording paper which gives high recording concentration and good image quality and decreases a dust deposit on a thermal head, the generation of paper dust, and curling. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or slightly colored basic dye and an acid material (a coloring agent) which develops color by the contact with the dye is formed on base paper composed mainly of pulp. The base paper is characterized by: the initial contact angle water on the base paper surface is 30 deg.<=theta100 deg.; the variation rate of the contact angle R is 0.05 deg./sec. <=R<=1.10 deg./sec.; the ratio of the maximum to minimum of microwave transmission obtained by the microwave measurement of the base paper is 1.60 or less. Thermosensitive recording paper is prepared using the base paper specified above.
