PURPOSE:To improve the elasticity to puncture without impairing surface characteristics, bioadaptability, easy bendability, etc., by providing a composite structural part immobilized by adding an elastic resin layer thereto in the central part exclusive of both ends of a long porous polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) tube. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel rod 4 is inserted into the long porous PTFE tube 3 having rugged parts on the surface. The outer periphery of the tube 3 is covered with a casting mold case 5 having a suction inlet and outlet 6 for a soln. contg. a raw material resin. The soln. contg. the raw material resin, such as silicone resin or urethane resin of a medical grade, is filled in the gap between the inside surface of the case 5 and the outer periphery of the tube 3 and the porous spaces of the tube 3 under suction and pressure reduction by a vacuum pump. The resin is cured by heat-treating the tube together with the case 5 and, thereafter, the case 5 and the rod 4 are removed. The artificial blood vessel having the combined central part added and fixed with the elastic resin layer 7 only in the rugged parts on the outer surface of the tube 3 is then obtd. |
