摘要 PURPOSE:To easily, exactly and automatically measure thickness of a fat layer by binarizing a B mode image and extracting a significant picture element train between continuous scanning lines, detecting a picture element train of a boundary, based on a result of its extraction and measuring thickness of a subcutaneous fat layer. CONSTITUTION:The subcutaneous fat measuring instrument is constituted of a probe 1, and a display measuring instrument main body 2 in which this probe 1 is installed so as to be freely attachable and detachable, and the display measuring instrument main body 2 is provided with a transmitting circuit 3 and a receiving circuit 4. To the receiving circuit, an image display part 5 is connected, and by using a DSC, a B mode image is fetched into a memory at a receiving timing. A CRT 6 fetches and displays image data contained in the image display part 5 at a timing of a television signal. Also, to the image display part 5, an image arithmetic part 7 is also connected, and from the B mode image stored in the image display part 5, thickness of subcutaneous fat is measured. A main control part 8 consists of a microcomputer containing a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, etc., and a keyboard 9 for various inputs is connected thereto.
