PURPOSE:To provide a sliding member having a specific constitution, low torsional rigidity and low rotational torque, usable over a long period without lubrication, having excellent corrosion resistance to saline solution, etc., and useful for the connecting part of a suspension rod of automobile, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective sliding member is composed of a member A having at least the sliding face 2a made of a polyamide resin containing 10-50wt.% of reinforcing fiber and a member B having a sliding face 2b made of an electro-deposition coating layer formed on a metallic member. The reinforcing fiber of the member A is usually glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc., and the fiber is preferably compounded with fluororesin powder, etc., to improve the lubricity. The electro-deposition coating of the sliding face of the member B is carried out by using e.g. a cationic epoxy resin coating and an anionic polybutadiene resin coating. The surface of the metal is preferably coated with a coating film of iron phosphate, etc., before electro-deposition coating to improve the rust-proofing property and the durability of the coating film. |
